Oliver Sparks Plane for Sale

I Have a few of Ollie Sparks planes and I've decided to let this beauty go.

Designated 10 1/2 because it is half the size of a Norris No 21 upon which it was styled.

This was one of an original batch of just five made two years ago. You can view the model by going to his website.

It's 3 1/2" long with a 7/8" wide blade and has never been used, just admired. The beautiful infill is Honduras Rosewood.

Fine Quality Slotted Screws

Tony from The Vintage Screw Company contacted me about the traditional range of screws he sells.
They are new old stock made many years ago by Nettlefolds and GKN.
Although they may not look much a quick rub on some fine abrasive will have them looking like new. Of course if you are restoring antique furniture they are perfect just as they are.
Quantities start very low and prices are reasonable.

Wonderful Craftsmanship from Sweden.

Robin is a last year student at the famous Malmsten Woodworking School in Sweden. He sent me these pictures of a recent project exploring the use of 'invisible' wooden hinges.

Beautiful Wood for the UTC Course

The carcass for the box needs to be as stable as possible for accurate fitting and minimum movement over time. Finding properly quarter sawn timber is not easy over a width of 250 mm (10"). Most of the kits will be made up from booked matched timber such as the olive ash above. But a couple of kits will be made from full width lacewood (London Plane) which is bang quarter sawn and quite stunning. I believe they call this sycamore in the US.
Note the blue masking tape on the book matched board is acting as clamps, when the edges are shot to a perfect fit stretched tape is all that's needed.

It has more than 50 dovetails and the course is suitable for those used to cutting them.

The process of building a cabinet with a minute taper front to back will be explained as well as the process for making and fitting a piston fit drawer. All materials are included in the price of the course.
