Skelton Long Stroke Dovetail Saw

A little while back I order a long stroke dovetail saw from Shane and Jaq Skelton, a couple of days ago it arrived. I pushed the boat out and went for the 'Squires Peters' version, a copy of a saw made in 1760.

Beautiful packing with some nice touches.........

............and finally the saw revealed, what a beauty!

It has 16 TPI and very little set, ideal for finer dovetails, my only frustration is that being away I have nothing to test it on. The handle is flame beech and the fit and finish of the whole saw are immaculate. Enjoy the pictures.

  1. Bloody gorgeous, Shane does some lovely work.

  2. You just can't go wrong with a Skelton saw. The craftsmanship and meticulous attention to every single minute detail are second to none, anywhere, ever! I'm delighted to hear that he has finished yours David, somewhat selfishly as that brings mine one step closer. Congratulations on a beautiful tool and a sage investment, I hope you will relish every single cut.

  3. Classic saw...reproduced by a modern master. I love mine!

Can't wait until my longstroke is ready...maybe ordering at Christmas!
