Great Wooden Lighting.

Joe from London sent me these pictures of some of his lighting designs using oversize lights and bulbs which look fantastic

He's starting a new venture selling these shortly which I'm sure will do very well. I'll post details when the website is up and running.

  1. Love the designs and the bulbs but what about replacements, I don't think the low energy will give the same great look

    1. Yes I'm not sure about that, I'm sure they'll explain that when the site is up and running. And yes a normal low energy bulb would probably spoil the look!!

  2. Edison bulbs are all the rage over here in the states. They're readily available on specialty sites and Amazon.

I love these. Lighting fixtures have been on my list this year. I just discovered colorcord.com a few days ago! Thanks for posting these. Great inspiration.

  3. There US actually an LED Design specifically for these things. They are called filament LED in Germany and look just like some Edison bulbs.

  4. Filament LED bulbs are beginning to be widely available in the US as well. I've installed a number of them, and the look and light quality are wonderful. Numerous stores are stocking them in my area, and online retailers have an ever-increasing variety of form factors.

It's worth noting that the LED filaments, while dimmable, seem to be mainly intended for primary lighting applications: they're as bright as typical incandescent bulbs. This in contrast to many of the currently fashionable incandescent Edison-style bulbs, which run at low light output, a deep orange glow, dim enough to look at directly.
