Customer Made Wooden Plane.

Here's some pictures of a cute little plane made of white oak and cherry with a 1" Hock blade.

It's nice to see the correct use of the round bar with a lever cap and screw, I've seen so many planes made by both amateurs and professionals use a round bar with a wooden wedge. I can see the attraction as the bar is very easy to fit, but in a short time the wedge becomes compressed in one area and losses it hold. The Krenov style plane has a flat underside to the pin which when combined with a curved wedge provides two counter balanced areas of contact. Japanese planes use the round bar with a convex metal chip breaker which again provides a counter balanced force either side of the pin. Anyway that's my rant over with, nice plane Rob and thank for sharing the pictures.
